Sara Scargill B.A.(Hons)- Research Co-ordinator

Sara ScargillSara grew up in South London and her interest in genealogy began at an early age. A graduate of the University of Leicester and qualified teacher, Sara became a partner in the business in 1985 and has over 30 years research experience using archives in a number of counties including Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and the London area. For a number of years she has specialised in Staffordshire and Derbyshire, and has now added Lancashire to her area of research. She has extensive experience using a wide range of genealogical sources in Record Offices, libraries and other repositories as well as online resources. Sara has a good working knowledge of Latin, which is often used in early documents, and can also offer translation from and to French and Spanish.

Christopher Scargill B.A.(Hons) M.A., B.Th.- Consultant

Christopher Scargill

A clergyman in the Church of England now based in Lytham St.Annes, Lancashire, Christopher established the business in 1983 in Yorkshire. He is trained in medieval Latin and palaeography. Born in Dewsbury (West Yorkshire), he has specialist knowledge of the county and has written a number of papers on local and church history. Christopher is available to advise on and translate/decipher early documents, as well as offering advice on ecclesiastical records and pre-parish register genealogy.
